Printing

Northpoint Printing offers both digital and traditional lithographic printing services, using both our own equipment and that of very carefully selected suppliers.

Until recently, full colour documents could only be produced economically in relatively long runs because of the cost of pre-press and set-up times, yet the demand for these long print runs has fallen in recent years in line with numbers of shareholders in public limited companies. Today documents produced on Northpoint’s typesetting systems, both on our hardware and using our online editing service (u-proof™), can be printed instantly and cost effectively in both digital black only and in digital colour - and in any quantity.

Digital printing is now the most commonly used manufacturing process for transactional and fund documents – it is flexible, fast and very cost-effective. For example, in less than two hours from your 'sign off' you can receive the first few copies of your document at your office. This can prove invaluable for board meetings and working party meetings just prior to announcing your transaction to the public. You will also have the benefit of seeing what the document is actually going to look like prior to "pressing the button" on the print run. Digital printing also has the advantage of providing clients with the opportunity of making further changes to the document, if a late error or omission is detected during a final read through, without having to waste an entire print run. Traditional lithographic printing does not afford you this feature.

Northpoint Printing also provides personalised printing (variable data print). This is the merging of database information and digital print technology, thus allowing clients to streamline printed products to target particular sectors or individuals. Printing unique content on each page of a document is proven to deliver both greater impact and better response rates. Northpoint has invested in the software to produce personalised print products for both black only and colour documents. Your documents can be now also be customised and personalised in ways not previously possible. We will personalise anywhere in your document with, say, shareholders' personal allotments, total share vale and address details – and this has proven particularly useful when an application form is printed as part of a document.
